Preserve and Protect the Natural beauty, Wildlife and Fishery
As property owners we are fortunate to have such a gorgeous lake. The lake has an abundance of wildlife and fishery. This includes among others, muskrat, beaver, eagles, many varieties of ducks, geese, swans, a large variety of fish and of course our beloved pair of nesting Loons. We have beautiful clear water and ample space to enjoy swimming, kayaking, canoeing, boating, watersports and other activities.
Our efforts to preserve and protect this include maintaining and protecting the Loon nest, working with the Loon Lake Improvement Board and PLM to monitor the lake treatment program to provide a balance for the control of weeds and invasives and support the fishery. We also work with the DNR to provide stocking of walleye and have done supplemental stocking on our own.
Help us protect the Loons.
Loons are endangered and less than 200 nesting pairs are left in Michigan. Stay 300′ away from them. State Law is a $1,000 fine for harassing loons. Please by all means educate your family members and guests to respect these awesome endangered birds. Stay away from them while skiing, wake boarding, jet skiing and high speed boating.
